How does the motion sensor (microwave radar) work?Updated 2 hours ago
The Klyqa Welly features a built-in microwave motion sensor that detects when your pet approaches the fountain. When your pet is detected, the fountain automatically starts circulating water to encourage drinking.
How motion detection works
- Pet detected: As soon as your pet approaches the fountain, a water circulation cycle starts automatically.
- On AC power: Water circulates for 10 minutes.
- On battery power: Water circulates for 15 seconds to conserve energy.
After each activation, the fountain enters a cooldown period:
- 1 minute by default (adjustable in the app)
- During this time, additional motion is ignored.
- Once the cooldown ends, motion detection becomes active again.
Motion sensor settings in the Klyqa Pet app
Open Settings > Sensor Mode.
You can:
- Adjust the cooldown time (for example 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes).
- Disable the cooldown entirely if you want the fountain to respond to every detected movement.
- Increase the cooldown period while running on battery power to maximize battery life.
- Enable 24/7 Fresh Water Mode if you prefer continuous water circulation.
Good to know
- The water level in the drinking tray is automatically maintained at an optimal level, regardless of the selected operating mode.
- The sensor uses microwave radar technology to reliably detect your pet's approach, while movements from people nearby are generally ignored.
